Tube Guitar Amp Repair

Tube guitar amplifiers or valve amplifiers remain highly desirable & many guitar players will always prefer the sound quality of the tube guitar amplifier. Tube amp repairs often involve replacement of connectors, input jacks or output jacks & other discrete components as well as tubes of course. We can also perform refurbishing services on tube amplifiers, replacing aging capacitors and other components to breath new life into your favorite amp. Tube amps not only get hot, but also contain lots of high voltages that can cause death - NEVER open an amplifier or touch internal components of tube amplifiers unless you are qualified to do so.

Tube Amp Overhaul

As vintage guitar tube amps age, many of the components gradually break down until they finally fail. The performance of a tube amp slowly deteriorates in this way. Often, many of us do not realize that the sound has changed, we just play the amp less often, dis-satisfied with our sound as well as a little concerned that it hums more and has less tone than it used to. At our guitar and electronics workshop on the east side of Tucson, Arizona, we repair and overhaul tube amplifiers.

Tube Guitar Amplifiers contain dangerous, high voltage circuits. Tube amps commonly store voltages of 450V and greater for extended periods of time, even days after the amp has been turned off. DO NOT attempt to service your amp if you are not qualified to do so.

We accept “tube-type” or “all tube” amps only.
We do not service solid state, MOSFET or hybrid type amps or Hi-Fi tube amps. (Music Man amps are OK).  In order to provide the highest level of service on your amp, we have limited our specialization to tube-type guitar and bass amps only.
If you are unsure of what type of amp you have, please email us or call first.  I'm sorry but I am not in a position to provide technical help in repairing your own amp.

We receive many makes and models of amps in various states of repair (or attempted repair). This makes it impossible to list prices for many of our services. Therefore, all work will be billed on a case by case basis. It is really impossible to guess how much your repair would be without looking at your amp first.  There will be a $50 deposit required for the minimum labor charge on all work or estimates which will be applied to the final bill.
